Kansas Prairie

I just went on a trip to Kansas. The best part of the trip was going to the tallgrass prairie national park. This is a beautiful old barn that is still standing at the park.

The tall grass turns a golden red color in the fall. All the colors in this picture remind me of warm fall afternoons. Amber waves of grain is the perfect description of Kansas prairies.

I love this picture of my parents walking along the trail in the tall grass prairie. It gives you a good idea of how vast and open the Kansas prairie is.

A lonely tree in the wild grass lands. This was the largest tree along the trail we walked. If you are ever in Kansas go out to the prairie and spend some time thinking about the tallgrass prairie that once covered the North American continent, less than 4% remains.
