Kansas Prairie


I just went on a trip to Kansas. The best part of the trip was going to the tallgrass prairie national park. This is a beautiful old barn that is still standing at the park.

The tall grass turns a golden red color in the fall. All the colors in this picture remind me of warm fall afternoons. Amber waves of grain is the perfect description of Kansas prairies.

I love this picture of my parents walking along the trail in the tall grass prairie. It gives you a good idea of how vast and open the Kansas prairie is.

A lonely tree in the wild grass lands. This was the largest tree along the trail we walked. If you are ever in Kansas go out to the prairie and spend some time thinking about the tallgrass prairie that once covered the North American continent, less than 4% remains.

A Day Hike


I went on a short day hike with a good friend and my camera. I love the exotic plants along this path. It felt like I was walking down a path in Africa.

At the end of the hike I found a small group of mexican tulip poppy’s. I love the bright yellow of this mexican tulip poppy it’s beautiful.

Spider


I love walking around botanical gardens with my camera. I found this huge spider killing a bee in its web. This spider was a little camera shy hiding in a leaf.

This is a much smaller spider at the same botanical garden. His silk is so thin it looks like he is floating on nothing. I love how vibrant the colors are in this image.

Beach Sunset


I went to the beach for this amazing sunset with my tripod and camera. This was the first picture I took that day. I love the blue moody feel of this picture.

I woke up at sunrise to get this picture of the Salton Sea. I love shooting 120 black and white film. The Salton Sea is an amazing place everyone should visit.

Critters


This is a beautiful bearded dragon. They have the ability to change colour in response to temperature changes. I love the colors in this image.

I had so much fun shooting this Crested Gecko. He has hair like projections found above his eyes, resembling eyelashes. He looks amazing in contrast to the clear blue sky.

I took this photo of a tarantula spider at an exotic animal farm in Los Osos, California. I love the sharp detail in the hairs of the spider. Tarantulas are beautiful arachnids.
