Ribbonsnake’s have amazing colored stripes that run along the body.

This Mexican Milk Snake has a color pattern alternating bands of white, black and red. “Red and black, friend of Jack; red and yellow kill a fellow.”

Red Corn snake is a small docile snake. He has beautiful orange colors. Corn snakes feed on rodents.

The Texas rat snake has a voracious appetite. This snake will typically bite if handled, though their bite is harmless.

This Jungle carpet python has vibrant yellow and black markings. I think the carpet python is the most beautiful pythons in the world.

Hiking Trail


I love hiking with my camera. This trail has a whole succulent garden with amazing plants. Ponytail palms are beautiful trees that flower in the spring.

Beautiful Flowers


This is a White Gaura flower. I love the light pink and white colors in this flower. This ornamental plant can survive lengthy periods of drought.

This flower is hanging from a small tree called Brugmansia. I love standing under the huge yellow flowers from the Brugmansia tree.

I love blue eyed daisy’s. They are part of the Osteosermum family. The steel-blue core and white petals are beautiful together.

Pansy’s make me think of Alice and Wonderland. Red and yellow are an amazing color combination.

Dahlia is a BIG pink flower. It’s native mainly in Mexico and Central America. The Sunset Pink color is beautiful.

Grassland


I love tall ornamental grasses. This is white feather pampas grass. I love how fluffy this grass is its beautiful in the afternoon light.

Purple Fountain grass is my favorite ornamental grass. I love the burgundy-red purple color of this grass. I like the lines the grass creates in this image.

Zebra grass is bright and bold colored. The green and yellow bands stand out against the darker green background. I love this rare and exotic grass.

Pennisetum alopecuroides is a small ornamental grass. It looks so fluffy in this picture. I love the golden and green colors.

Kansas Prairie Wildlife

Kansas Prairie


I just went on a trip to Kansas. The best part of the trip was going to the tallgrass prairie national park. This is a beautiful old barn that is still standing at the park.

The tall grass turns a golden red color in the fall. All the colors in this picture remind me of warm fall afternoons. Amber waves of grain is the perfect description of Kansas prairies.

I love this picture of my parents walking along the trail in the tall grass prairie. It gives you a good idea of how vast and open the Kansas prairie is.

A lonely tree in the wild grass lands. This was the largest tree along the trail we walked. If you are ever in Kansas go out to the prairie and spend some time thinking about the tallgrass prairie that once covered the North American continent, less than 4% remains.
